One of our more memorable and well-known fundraisers, Shack-a-Thon is an event in which we auction off spaces in front of G. Rollie/Kyle Field for various student organizations to build shacks. The organizations then get to hang out in the Shack Village and join in the fun during the week! Not only does this serve as a great fundraiser (all profit goes towards the Aggie Habitats annual house sponsorship), it also helps in educating people about poverty housing. Much of the fun of Shack-a-Thon is in constructing the shacks from donated materials.

During the week, forty-two tournaments, Guitar Hero, Extreme Four-square, and other events are held. Four or five bands will come out to perform on Band Night on Thursday (buy their merch!! Theyre awesome and perform basically for free!!!) Shack-a-Thon helps to promote a sense of community among the organizations that participate as well as the people who pass by. Students from a wide range of organizations such as FLOs, dorms, and engineering societies, build and sleep in the shacks for the duration of the week. We also have many other student organizations including HardChord DynaMix, A&M Fencing Club, Aggie Wranglers etc. come to perform for the students at Shack-a-Thon. This is Shack-a-Thons 12th year, meaning you could add this event to that long list of great Aggie traditions.

Shack-A-Thon 2010 will be held from April 12th - 16th.
